Detailed Itinerary of 10 Days Tanzania Safari from Zanzibar & Beach Holiday

 

Day 1: Arrive in Zanzibar Island and Transfer to Stone Town

On arrival at Zanzibar International Airport, you will be met by our staff at the airport and transfer to Stone Town (the ancient town and the capital of Zanzibar), check in at your resort and spend the rest of the day at relaxation, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day in Zanzibar

After breakfast, spend the day at leisure in your resort. You can do an excursion. You depart for Old Town of Stone Town walking tour, visit the Old Fort, the oldest structure in Stone Town builit between 1698 and 1701, visit the House of Wonders, the most elegant building in Stone Town built in 1883, visit the Old Customs House, visit Darajani Market, visit Anglican Cathedral Church of Christ, built between 1873 and 1883 by the Unversities’ Mission in Central Africa (UMCA) under the auspices of Edward Steere, third bishop of Zanzibar (1874 – 82), visit Beit el Amani Memorial Museum, visit slave market to mention the few and last visit Forodhani Garden on the seafront and was laid out in 1936 to mark the silver jubilee of Sultan Khalifa.

Day 3: Fly to Arusha – Transfer to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast from your resort, you will be transferred to Zanzibar International Airport for your flight to Arusha. Upon landing at Arusha Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our staff who will brief you about the safari and drive to Tarangire National Park, it is a journey of two hours arriving in time for afternoon game drives. Expect to see animals such as lions, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, baboons, hyenas, eland, kudu, cheetah, warthog, blue and vervet monkey and more. Tarangire National Park is home to about 450 species of birds that have been recorded and you will see some of these colorful species during the game drive.

Day 4: Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park

Enjoy breakfast at your lodge, then depart for Serengeti National Park driving across Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and short rest, then go for an afternoon game drive in the park. Serengeti National Park is probably the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world. With its 15,000 square kilometers area it hosts 3 million large mammals. More than 35 species of plain animals like zebras, wildebeests, eland, giraffe, and others are found here. During the game drive you will also enjoy sight of the Big Five – lions, elephants,
buffaloes, rhinos and leopards among others.

Day 5: Full Day of Game Drives in Serengeti National Park

Enjoy breakfast at your lodge and head out for a full day game drive in Serengeti National Park on a morning and an afternoon game drive. The Serengeti has so much to offer, your driver knowns well how and where to find animals just to give you the best of what the park has for visitors.

Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater Tour

Wake up early for breakfast, check out and drive with your packed lunch to Ngorongoro Crater Rim. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for game drives on which you will see all the Big Five – lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and rhinos living in this wonderful caldera. Other animals you will see include hippos, wildebeests, hyenas and more. Birds to lookout for include flamingoes on the Soda lake, Geese, storks, vultures and more. You will enjoy picnic lunch in the Crater at Ngoitoktok swamp – a Hippo Pool. Ascend the crater and drive to Karatu, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Lake Manyara Park – Fly to Zanzibar North Coast (Nungwi Beach)

After breakfast at your lodge, you will check out and depart for Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive. Enjoy sightings of the rare tree climbing lions, buffaloes, giraffes, baboons, blue and vervet monkeys, warthogs and many more. Enjoy picnic lunch and drive to Arusha Airport for your fight to Zanzibar, upon arrival at Zanzibar International Airport, you will be met by our staff and transfer to Nungwi, North Coast of the island and check in at your resort, spend the rest of the day at rest, enjoy dinner and overnight stay.
