Detailed Itinerary of 10 Days Tanzania’s Best Great Migration Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
You will be met on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport by your guide and driven to your hotel in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, there are plenty of activities to keep you busy. Enjoy a guided stroll between Maasai Markets (for Tinga Tinga Paintings, handmade jewellery and Shuka textiles), peruse the museums, or visit the bright green field of the coffee farms and sample some of Africa’s finest beans.

Day 2: Arusha National Park
You will be collected from you lodge after breakfast and head to Arusha National Park where monkeys, giraffes and a host of birdlife are all present. During the game drive expect to see several wildlife species such as olive baboons, buffalo, bushbucks, elephants, giraffes, hippos and leopards among others.
In addition to game drives, you can also go for horseback riding, mountain climbing and canoeing done at the Momella Lakes.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
You will be collected from your lodge and driven to Arusha Airport for your flight to Lake Manyara Airport. You will be met by our representative – your driver guide and driven to your lodge with a short game drive, check in and enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon you will go for a game drive. At 325 square kilometers, Lake Manyara National Park is a relatively small Tanzania park bordered by the dramatic Rift Valley Escarpment and comprising of grassy floodplains, enchanting evergreen forest, acacia woodland and groundwater springs. During the game drive, expect to see large herds of elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes and several bird species including pink flamingoes on the shores of the alkaline Lake Manyara.

Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and head to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with en-route game drive through Lake Manyara National Park. Drive through the beautiful Ngorongoro Highlands and proceed to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon you will go for a guided walk along the rim of Ngorongoro Crater for an up-close interaction with several wildlife species including zebras, giraffes, Thomson and Grant’s gazelles among others. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Safari
Today you will enjoy a full day game drive in Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact – unfilled caldera in the world. After breakfast, you will head to the crater, descend 600 meters into the crater floor to catch the action. Ngorongoro Crater is home to a wide range of wildlife which you will see during the game drive including lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, cheetahs, gazelles, wildebeests, zebras, elands, warthogs, hyenas among others.
You will enjoy picnic lunch at one of the picnic sites on the crater floor and continue with the game drive till sunset, ascend the crater and return to your lodge for an evening of rest, have dinner and overnights stay.

Day 6-9: Serengeti National Park Safari
After breakfast, you will be collected from your lodge by your guide and drive to Serengeti National Park with en-route visit to the Olduvai Gorge – where several fossils are displayed.
Famous for the might Great Migration, witness the wildebeest migration is high on the list of most visitors to Serengeti National Park. The location of the herds differs by month but as the rough guide, you will catch the famous river crossings in the north from July to October and the calving and birth season in the south from December to March. Visiting at other times and the herds will be in the Western Corridor (April to June) or traveling back to the central areas.
On your stay in Serengeti National Park, you will take part in game drives offering incredible sightings of cheetahs, zebras, giraffes and small game drive. Whether you choose a morning or afternoon drive or an all-day expedition with a picnic, enjoy cultural visits and community projects.

Day 10: Departure
Today is the last day of your Tanzania Great Migration Safari, after a leisurely breakfast you will be collected by your driver-guide and transferred to the airport to catch your flight to back to Arusha where you will connect to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home.
